A Nightmare

Where am I?

A bright white light was shining into my eyes. I cannot make out anything around me. Suddenly I heard a noise. It sounded like a guinea pig squealing.

Who's there? What was that noise? I don't have a guinea pig.

CLICK!

I felt myself jump from the clicking sound. The blinding light slowly dimmed in front of me. I realized I was strapped down on a table of some sort. Only there were no straps visible to me as my eyes started to adjust.

Where am I? Who is here with me? Why can't I move? What's going on?

I tried to talk but no sound was coming out of my mouth. I began to feel my heart race in my chest. I tried to move frantically. My legs could not kick and my arms could not rise up. Even my head seemed to be forced to this table. I have to relax.

Calm down Lynn. I'm okay. Don't freak out. Probably some sick joke from Joey.

Then my heart sank. I opened my mouth to scream but no sound came out.

Why can't I scream or talk! Don't touch me! Leave me alone! I tried to move away but failed.

There to right side of my face I saw four long fingers. They were tinted grey and slender. I felt them run down my cheek gently. They were as soft as rose petals but I did not find that comforting. I opened my mouth once more to scream again with no success.

What is that! Oh my god what is that!

I saw it.

It was tall and its skin was grey. It had large, dark, almond eyes. Its lips were small and only slit for the nostrils. It tilted its large head at me. Another identical being came to the other side of me only this one was wearing some sort of white mask over its face. They were aliens, they had to be.

I'm going to die! They're going to put something inside of me! Do some tests on me! I have to get out of here!

I was remembering stories people told after they claimed to being abducted as I tried to wiggle free. I am becoming one of those people at this very moment. I believed them now and felt horrible for thinking they were liars just looking for publicity. I stopped struggling in defeat. I was not going anywhere they made sure of that.

I'm going to be alright. This is a dream, just a bad dream Lynn. You'll wake up soon.

I watched the alien closely with the mask grabbed a long white utensil. It was thin and looked like a white pen with a skinny cord. The creepy fingers twisted the top half and it started to glow red. The red beam started to come towards my chest. I followed the tool and saw my chest was exposed. The red light was coming closer and closer to where my heart lied underneath my skin.

Oh my god! This isn't dream! Please stop! Please don't cut into me! Let me go! Please God! Help me!

Somebody help me! Get me outta here! I tried to break free again but did not move an inch.

I felt a sharp piercing pain like glass was cutting into my skin.

AHH!

I looked down at my bare chest. There was blood flowing profusely from the large incision that the laser beam created.

God help me! I'm alive! It hurts! I'm awake! Stop! Please stop this! Wake up Lynn wake up!

I was mortified but could not manage to look away. Another incision was made and I felt their fingers pry my skin backwards.

AHH! That hurts! Stop tearing away at my flesh like its paper! Stop! STOP! AHH!

I opened my mouth and screamed silently with agony until something caught my eye. I was now looking at my still beating heart. I could hear it thump louder in my ears.

Thump, thump, thump.

This isn't a dream! Please let me die! I don't want to live like this! God please kill me now! Kill me!

The beating increased and the sound echoed in my ears.

Thump, thump, thump!

The alien stopped pulling my skin apart and looked around. It dropped the tool at once and started to hustle for something. With the fingers gone and not pulling apart my skin I felt relieved. I was starting to feel different. I felt dizzy and faint. I looked at my beating heart below me with my skin around it torn and mangled.

How can they do this to someone? That's my skin not some clay! Monsters! Sick monsters!

The alien came back holding a long needle.

Please stop! Please don't put that in me! Let me die!

My eyes finally began to water. The alien's finger touched my tear. It looked at me strangely and put down the needle beside him. I think I saw it smile at me.

He's going to let me die! He's not going to stop it! Thank you! Thank you! God thank you!

I blinked once more and then kept my eyes shut. Everything around me started to fade to black. The soft sounds of squealing and my heart beats were drowning out. My body began to relax and soon it felt like nothing was keeping it restrained. I felt the alien's fingers touch my eyelids softly and I was not scared any more. Death offered me mercy in my dire hour of need.
